About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced mining leader to oversee the Federation Mine operation near Nymagee, NSW.

Reporting to the General Manager - Cobar Region, you will provide leadership across all aspects of the site, including underground mining, maintenance, contract management, camp services, and operational performance. Working closely with Redpath as the mining contractor, you will ensure alignment across all functions while driving a strong culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

This is a high-impact leadership role suited to someone who can build strong relationships, influence diverse teams, and deliver sustainable operational outcomes.

  • Roster: 8/6, 12 hours per day (Dayshift only)

  • Location:Federation Mine, Nymagee NSW

Travel options

  • DIDO if you live within an 800km radius of the Mine site which includes a travel allowance

  • FIFOfrom Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne

Key responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for the Federation Mine operation

  • Foster a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislative and company requirements

  • Partner with Redpath and other contractors to drive operational performance and achieve production objectives

  • Lead and support site-based teams across mining, maintenance, camp and supporting functions

  • Ensure effective planning, coordination and execution of operational activities

  • Manage site operating budgets and resources to deliver sustainable business outcomes

  • Develop high-performing leaders and teams through coaching, mentoring and succession planning

  • Build strong relationships with employees, contractors and key stakeholders

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, productivity and operational efficiency

  • Act as the senior site representative, ensuring effective communication and alignment across all functions

Qualifications and experience

  • Significant experience in underground hard rock mining operations

  • Demonstrated success leading large operational teams across multiple functions

  • Strong contractor management experience, ideally within an owner-miner environment

  • NSW Mining Engineering Manager Certificate or ability to obtain mutual recognition

  • Proven experience managing budgets, operational performance and business improvement initiatives

  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication skills

  • Ability to foster collaboration and influence outcomes across diverse teams and contractors
