Firmus Technologies

Firmus Technologies develops and operates liquid-cooled AI Factories and GPU cloud platforms across Asia-Pacific, including the Project Southgate site in Tasmania.

Firmus Technologies designs, builds and operates energy-efficient AI infrastructure across the Asia-Pacific region. Founded in Australia in 2019, the company works from sites in Australia and Singapore, with its flagship sovereign AI project, Project Southgate, located in Tasmania. Its purpose-built infrastructure is intended to replace conventional data centres.

The company's core product, the AI Factory, is a class of digital infrastructure spanning liquid cooling systems, grid orchestration software and modular construction. These systems were designed for deployments of 1,000 or more GPUs as early as 2019. Firmus also operates large-scale GPU cloud platforms across Asia-Pacific and delivers sovereign AI infrastructure for the region.

Technical work at Firmus covers liquid cooling systems, energy management and grid orchestration, AI software orchestration, modular construction methodology, GPU cloud infrastructure and AI infrastructure design. The company describes its integrated approach as "model-to-grid", linking multi-generational cooling, energy management, AI orchestration and modular construction within a single system.

Firmus has raised over $505 million in equity and secured $10 billion in financing to support its infrastructure programme. The company states a commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability as a founding objective of its infrastructure design.
