The Opportunity

As a Charge Up Operator, you’ll be responsible for charging development and production blasts, handling and transporting explosives, maintaining underground firing lines and carrying out shot-firing duties to strict compliance and safety standards.

Reporting to the Supervisor Underground Production, you’ll join a high-performing crew that plays a vital role in underground blast readiness.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Substantial underground mining experience (Charge Up or Service crew exposure highly regarded, as well as use of emulsion and ANFO in blasting)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • A proactive attitude with a commitment to working safely
  • Able to work effectively in a team in a physically demanding underground environment
  • WA Shotfirer’s license (or willing to obtain)
  • Valid manual C Class Driver’s Licence
  • WA Dangerous Goods Security Card and Working at Heights

About the Role:

  • Charging development and production rounds
  • Safely handling and transporting explosives in line with regulations
  • Tying up and preparing blasts safely and accurately
  • Conducting pre and post-blast inspections
  • Maintaining equipment and reporting any issues
  • Working collaboratively with the underground crew and maintaining strong safety and housekeeping standards
