About the role


We are looking for Underground Operators / MCU Operators to join our team supporting operations at Cadia, NSW.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity on a 7/7 roster, offering both FIFO and DIDO options, with travel, accommodation, and meals provided.

As an Underground Operator, you'll play a key role in delivering safe and efficient blasting services underground. Working as part of a close-knit team, you'll operate Mobile Charging Units (MCUs), load explosives, support blast preparation activities, and ensure work is completed safely and in line with site requirements.

What you will be doing

  • Operate Mobile Charging Units (MCUs) and associated equipment safely and efficiently;
  • Load and deliver explosives products underground in accordance with site procedures;
  • Support blast preparation and charging activities;
  • Conduct pre-start inspections and basic equipment maintenance checks;
  • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards;
  • Work collaboratively with site teams to achieve production targets;
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you will bring

  • Experience working in an underground mining environment;
  • Ability to operate heavy mobile equipment safely and efficiently;
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and compliance practices;
  • Ability to follow procedures and work accurately in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills;
  • A proactive and reliable approach to work;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a UHL (Underground Hard Rock Licence);
  • Current Australian driver's licence;
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening;
  • Ability to obtain a satisfactory National Police Check.
